As a Silver Supporter, Autonomic helps fund the Advisory Group's mission to gain and promote a full understanding of the issues affecting Federal IT today. Their contribution funds imperative research and initiatives, which promote the adoption of cloud computing in the public sector. Autonomic also helps the Advisory Group raise awareness of issues associated with cloud computing.
Autonomic will also be participating in the Advisory Group's first meeting, Viewpoints on FedRAMP, taking place February 27, 2014 on Capitol Hill. During this meeting, attendees will discuss the FedRAMP certification deadline of June 2014, how Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) can work together to better understand the FedRAMP compliance process, and how the FedRAMP process can be streamlined for CSPs and government agencies.
Autonomic offers vendors in danger of non-compliance as of OMB's June 5, 2014 accreditation deadline a service that expedites FedRAMP accreditation called FedRAMP Re-Platforming. As the first CSP to reach this certification, in December 2012, and the first to complete the annual FedRAMP security assessment, in December 2013, Autonomic has developed valuable processes and strategies to achieve accreditation. Autonomic is looking forward to contributing this expertise to the Advisory Group as a key member and supporter.
"We believe the Cloud Computing Caucus Advisory Group has the proper mission and structure to allow for non-biased input around cloud computing," said John Keese, CEO & President of Autonomic Resources. "The Caucus should allow our collective US Government customers to better understand cloud computing; its advantages and challenges."
"The establishment of the Cloud Computing Caucus underlines the necessity of cloud development," said Steve O'Keeffe, founder of MeriTalk and founding supporter of the Cloud Computing Caucus Advisory Group. "We look forward to working with the Caucus, lawmakers, and industry stakeholders – such as Autonomic Resources – to educate and propel the Federal government in the right direction on Federal IT."
The Cloud Computing Caucus Advisory Group is separate and distinct from the Cloud Computing Caucus, a Congressional Member Organization constructed by US Representatives Darrell Issa and Gerry Connolly.
