Automotive Safety Council Endorses AEB Accord

DETROIT, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Automotive Safety Council (ASC), an industry association founded in 1961 and dedicated to improving the safety of people throughout the world through the development, production and implementation of the latest technology in passive, active and autonomous automotive safety equipment, applauds the announcement by NHTSA, IIHS and 20 vehicle manufacturers to make Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) standard equipment by 2022.  This action will deliver the benefits to the public of reduced crashes, fatalities and injuries through AEB fitment in an accelerated time frame sooner than would otherwise have happened.
