Automated Parking Innovator Augments Its Management Team with Veterans of the Materials Handling Industry
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Boomerang Systems, Inc. (OTCQB: BMER) a leading designer and manufacturer of automated robotic parking and self storage systems announces the promotion of Scott Shepherd to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Shepherd joins Dave Koch, the Company's Chief Operating Officer hired in mid-2011, as another member of Boomerang's senior management team with decades of experience in building successful material handling businesses. Joseph Bellantoni, the Company's outgoing CFO, will remain a consultant to the Company on SEC and other financial matters.
Mr. Shepherd came to Boomerang in early 2011 as its Plant Controller, overseeing all financial aspects of the Company's operations at its research, design, production and testing facilities in Logan, Utah. Mr. Shepherd earned his Bachelor's (Accounting) and Master's degree (MBA) at The University of Utah, and comes to Boomerang with over 15 years of relevant management experience. Mr. Shepherd worked for 13 years at Daifuku America Corporation where he most recently served as its CFO and sat on its Board of Directors. Daifuku America Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daifuku Company, Ltd., one of the largest material handling companies in the world.
Mr. Shepherd and Mr. Koch worked together at Daifuku America after Daifuku acquired ESKAY Corporation - a company Mr. Koch co-founded in 1990. Mr. Koch brings 34 years of experience in logistics, automated warehousing, distribution and manufacturing across a variety of industries with companies having operations in North America, Europe and Asia. He earned a mechanical engineering degree at The University of Utah and has served as Senior Mechanical Engineer, Principal Systems Engineer, Senior Project Manager, Senior Vice President of Engineering, and Director of Sales and Marketing. Most importantly, Mr. Shepherd and Mr. Koch have a long track record of successful collaboration in the material handling industry, which they plan to continue at Boomerang.
