NYC Kid Lit Brunch series connects children's book community
NEW YORK, March 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Writer and director Julie Gribble hosts the first in a series of Kid Lit brunches on Sunday, March 30. Gribble's first special guest will be Mary Sullivan, author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed Ball. Ball is the recipient of the 2014 Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor. The brunch will follow New York City's premier children's bookstore Books of Wonder's 2014 Caldecott, Newbery, & Geisel Award Celebration, where Sullivan and several other award-winning authors and illustrators will be recognized.

"My goal is to connect authors and illustrators in the children's literature community so we can collaborate, learn, and grow together," said Gribble. The brunch will be hosted at Gribble's home in Tribeca. It's only natural Gribble would open her home to writers and artists; her townhouse is the original site of Franklin Furnace, a downtown performance, installation and exhibition space. Children's book authors, illustrators, librarians and parent/family interest media, and bloggers interested in attending are welcome to email [email protected] for additional information.
