Author and Illustrator Nona Publishes First in Planned Series of Children's Books: 'TORC 1 discoveries in North America'

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash., March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Illustrator and author Nona recently announced the publication of the first volume in a series of children's discovery tales featuring a dreaming, traveling cat by the name of TORC (https://torcthecat.com/books). "TORC 1 discoveries in North America" is the first of two planned volumes in the North America cycle, with subsequent TORC cycles set in different continents around the world. Each book is lushly illustrated by the author, who also recently donated over 400 copies of the original print run to various charities.

Synopsis: Modeled from Nona's own beloved feline friend, TORC is a talented, curious cat who dreams of himself in various adventures while he sleeps. Playing the role of kitty-detective, TORC often explores the wonderful world of animals all around him, sharing what he discovers with his young audience.

The entire book series will eventually cover all of the continents on Earth, generally following a two-books-per-continent publication pattern. Each two-book publication will also be followed by a special volume, featuring unique themes. The publication date of December 2019 is set for "TORC 2 discoveries in North America" with the North America special book planned around "Discoveries on the Farm."

Nona is an established artist who is driven by social awareness and compassion. She has donated hundreds of books to children in need at a variety of locations, including Seattle Children's Toy Drive, Fred Hutch, Treehouse for Foster Youth, Everett Community College, multiple preschools and the Asian Counseling & Referral Service (ACRS).
