COLUMBIA, Md., July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Autani, LLC, a proven leader in building controls and IoT, has performed the first centrally networked TLED installation using the Philips InstantFit T8 tubes with EasySmart technology. The project uses market-leading systems from Autani and retrofit smart Philips LED tubes from Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) to offer an innovative solution for updating a building's existing fluorescent lighting system to an open, IoT-based network featuring LEDs.
"We have created a simple way to update fluorescent lighting that supports centralized management and reporting," said Scott Metker, COO of Autani. "Networked controls allow facility managers to both save money and easily reconfigure the building remotely as future needs and technology change."
Utilizing Philips InstantFit LED T8 lights with EasySmart technology in combination with Autani's EnergyCenter building control software, Autani retrofitted the existing fluorescent lighting in the residence halls of a Nashville, TN-based university to create a wireless network of LED fixtures throughout each building that responds to centralized scheduling and provides an estimated 53% reduction in energy cost.
"We're excited to partner with Autani in providing open standards connect-ready lighting for smart buildings," said Peter Soares, Director of Connected LED Lamps at Signify. "By offering product choices that fit seamlessly into smart building ecosystems and masterfully pair with Autani's control software, we are providing lighting technologies that are more accessible for more customers across various industries."
