AURP Elects New Board and Officers
TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of University Research Parks (AURP) today announced the election of its 2014 Board of Directors and new officers. Kevin Byrne, MBA, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of The University Financing Foundation, Inc. (TUFF), will serve as President of its Board of Directors in 2014. Byrne had previously served as AURP president in 2012.
"AURP plays a vital role in fostering collaboration between the university and the private sector. We have a lot of work to accomplish to expand communities of innovation around the world, and I look forward to serving the association as President of the Board," said Byrne.
Newly elected Board members include:
- Stephen Frayser, MBA, Executive Director, STAR Park, Texas State University
- Steve Hanssen, Senior Director, Development, Wexford Science & Technology, LLC, a BioMed Realty Company
- Greg Hyer, Associate Director, University Research Park, University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Harold Strong, Director of Discovery Park and Technology Transfer, University of North Texas
The other officers of the AURP Board of Directors include Charles F. D'Agostino, MBA, Executive Director, Louisiana Business & Technology Center as Vice President; Greg Hyer, Associate Director, University Research Park, University of Wisconsin-Madison as Secretary; and Teresa McKnight, Executive Director, Montana State University Innovation Campus as Treasurer.
