Aurora BayCare Hosts Statewide Medical Device Business Development Meeting
First of its kind gathering will bring together entrepreneurs to generate economic development opportunities for northeastern Wisconsin
GREEN BAY, Wis., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Aurora BayCare will host a statewide meeting Friday, March 5, to promote the development of medical technology businesses in northeastern Wisconsin. The "Medical Device Collaboration Gathering" will take place at Aurora BayCare Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, 1160 Kepler Drive in Green Bay.

Collaboration, commercialization and entrepreneurship are the focus of the event. The meeting will bring together researchers, clinicians, manufacturers and entrepreneurs interested in potential collaborations to develop medical technologies and build them into successful commercial projects.
"Medical devices can save lives, improve quality of life and create economic development for communities," said Vice President of Research and Academic Relations, Randall Lambrecht, PhD, of Aurora Health Care. "We want the medical device community to know that entrepreneurs in northeast Wisconsin can create new innovations."
BayCare Clinic's Chief Medical Officer Paul Summerside, M.D., added, "We can do the research, and we can stimulate economic development right here in Green Bay."
Attendees will have the opportunity to:

- Learn from clinicians, scientists and entrepreneurs how to recognize, fund and market opportunities.
- Troubleshoot FDA hurdles, intellectual property, funding and business development steps.
The keynote speaker at the event is Brad Glenn, M.D., an interventional neuroradiologist who formerly practiced at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. He is the founder of Stealth Therapeutics Inc., a medical device business that obtains registration and markets novel patented port products.
