August Commercial Truck Market Performs Well

MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In the September edition of their commercial truck Guidelines report, NADA Used Car Guide analysts found retail pricing stable for the month of August with a few exceptions. The analysts also provided a special section in the report, which addresses the question, "Is there a market for 6x2's within the commercial trucking industry?"

According to Chris Visser, senior analyst at ATD/NADA Official Commercial Truck Guide, "Retail sales volume recovered from an unusually low June, and wholesale volume remains strong. On average, month-over-month pricing in both channels saw little change."

Visser went on to say, "Medium duty conventionals had a better month, while cabovers remained stable."

The report includes a special study entitled, Is there a market for 6x2's? In the study, an analysis of the adoption-rate of the 6x2 tandem axle configuration is explored. Additionally, the study identifies the key technology challenges faced by the platform and the reasons for resistance by industry-wide stakeholders.
