Audio Precision Announces APx555 Sweepstakes Winner
Design engineer Gene Goff looks forward to putting high-performance analyzer to work
BEAVERTON, Ore., Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Audio Precision, the recognized standard in audio test, announced today Gene Goff, of BiQuad, Inc., as the winner of their APx555 Sweepstakes. Coinciding with the introduction of AP's standard-setting audio analyzer, the promotional program ran through November and promised one lucky winner their very own high-performance APx555.
As principal for BiQuad, Inc., Gene's extensive audio design experience traces its roots to his early days in music and inevitable tinkering with sound equipment. Since then, he's done everything from designing analog mixing consoles to embedded DSP programming to providing audio equipment test and validation services, all while playing the cello and bass guitar in a local rock band.
With all of his design experience, Gene is no stranger to audio test, commenting, "I'm looking forward to having the performance of the APx555 when evaluating new ADCs, DACs and op amps for my designs, as well as testing AES3 digital audio receiver and transmitter chips."
As for new capabilities, "Log Sweep Measurements have really caught my attention and I'm excited to take advantage of those," Gene adds.
"We're thrilled with the market's reception of the APx555, and welcome the enthusiastic response its industry-leading performance has created," states Spyros Lazaris, AP Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "We're equally delighted this highly-capable analyzer is headed straight to a design engineer who's ready to put it to good use advancing the state of the art in audio equipment."
About the APx555 Audio Analyzer
With a typical residual THD+N of -120 dB (conservatively specified at -117 dB), the two analog channels of the APx555 boast the lowest noise and distortion of any audio analyzer available, allowing the most sensitive measurements to be made with assurance. The analyzer leverages the modular architecture and powerful software of the APx family, enabling it to deliver flexibility, automation and ease-of-use for developers of audio components, equipment and systems. Introduced in September, the APx555 began shipping in October.
