ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For three years in a row now, Faith Comes By Hearing, the world's largest Audio Bible ministry, was awarded the 4-star rating, the highest recognition, by America's leading charity evaluator, Charity Navigator.

"We are proud to announce Faith Comes By Hearing has earned our third consecutive 4-star rating for their ability to effectively manage and grow its finances," wrote Ken Berger, Charity Navigator president and chief executive officer, in his announcement letter.
"Only 13% of the charities we rate have received at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations," Berger said. "Faith Comes By Hearing consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America."
When Jerry Jackson, Faith Comes By Hearing founder and president, first heard the news, he said, "I was filled with gratitude to the Lord for His blessing and for allowing us to bring God's Word to poor and illiterate people without charge in their spoken language."
Founded in 1972 as a non-profit ministry, Faith Comes By Hearing records and uses heart-language Audio Bibles to reach and disciple the world's poor and illiterate people. Currently, the ministry has 502 Audio Scripture recordings in more than 430 languages. Their mission is to record the New Testament in 2,000 languages and start 2 million Bible listening groups by 2016.
"This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Faith Comes By Hearing from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust," added Berger.
Today's savvy donors demand "accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they support with their hard-earned dollars," Berger wrote.
This rating provides Faith Comes By Hearing contributors with confidence-boosting information about their charitable choices, Berger explained.
"We've maintained a transparent financial policy here for all 38 years of this ministry, and I believe it is a right and obligation for people to prove ministries' integrity before donating to it," said Jackson. "We are a low profile ministry, so having this rating for three years provides validation of our stewardship from a well-respected source."
"While amounts of money and balance sheets are a reflection of success, the real success is if the ministry is valuable and being carried out in a way that is pleasing to God," said Jackson.
