Audience Names Mohan Gyani to Board of Directors

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Audience, Inc., the leading provider of advanced voice and audio processors for the mobile and telecom marketplace, today announced that Mohan Gyani has been elected to its board of directors.

Mr. Gyani is currently the vice chairman of Roamware, Inc. and served as chairman and chief executive officer of the company from May through December 2005. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of AT&T Wireless Services, where he played a key role in the company's $10.6 billion initial public offering in 2000. He retired from the company in 2003, remaining a senior advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer of AT&T Wireless through December 2004. From 1995 through 1999, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of AirTouch Communications, where he helped lead the $120 billion merger of AirTouch and Vodafone Group, and the subsequent $70 billion joint venture with Bell Atlantic that resulted in the creation of Verizon Wireless. He began his career with Pacific Telesis Group/Pacific Bell where he held various positions in finance, operations and strategy.

Currently, Mr. Gyani also serves on the boards of directors of Keynote Systems, Inc., Safeway, Inc. and Union Bank. Mr. Gyani is also a board member of GSMA Ltd. and previously served on the board of the CTIA, both mobile industry organizations. In addition, he has been, or is a board member of several other public and private wireless industry-related companies. He holds a bachelor's degree and earned a master's degree in business administration from San Francisco State University.
