Auction of Beebe's Lumber Company assets set for December 6

AMARILLO, Texas, Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Beebe's Ace Hardware & Building Supply may be closed, but customers, individuals and businesses will have one more chance to buy building supplies and even the buildings when recently retired owners Parker and Phyllis Beebe sell the assets in an auction Saturday, Dec. 6. Canyon-based Assiter Auctioneers will manage the event.

"It's truly a privilege to be selling the assets of this business, which has been an essential part of the fabric of Amarillo for generations. Mr. and Mrs. Beebe have had a special relationship with their customers that dates back to before I was even born," said Spanky Assiter, president of the auction company.

"I bet you can hardly find a home or building around Amarillo that doesn't have materials the Beebes have provided, and I wouldn't be surprised if we have some people who just want to buy something from the store as a keepsake to remember their years of friendship and service," said Assiter.

The auction will include the buildings and land as well as lumber, sheetrock, hardware, doors and windows. Also selling will be equipment used in the business, including four trucks, two forklifts, office furniture and other items.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. at the business, 2411 SW 6^th Avenue, Amarillo.
