The conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami features some of the country's leading lawyers and includes an in-depth review of the latest in transvaginal mesh and ACTOS litigation. Mr. Lanier is serving as the lunchtime keynote speaker, and will discuss the many nuances of communicating with jurors in the 21st century.
On January 26, the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation is scheduled to hold hearings in Miami regarding the coordination of all pelvic and transvaginal mesh claims across the country. The Lanier Law Firm currently represents more than 400 women who have suffered injuries based on their use of the faulty medical devices.
The FDA issued warnings regarding vaginal mesh devices in July 2011, after a dramatic increase in patient complaints, including severe vaginal pain, bleeding, tissue erosion and other serious problems. The FDA estimates that as many as 300,000 women are implanted with vaginal mesh annually to treat conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. More than 650 lawsuits are pending against mesh manufacturers based on claims that the medical products are defective and that manufacturers failed to provide adequate warnings to patients and their doctors.
With offices in Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and Palo Alto, The Lanier Law Firm is committed to addressing client concerns with effective and innovative solutions in courtrooms across the country. The firm is composed of outstanding trial attorneys with decades of experience handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, asbestos exposure, intellectual property, business litigation, product liability, maritime law, bad faith insurance claims, and sports and entertainment law.
