DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- James Scott Farrin Attorney and Shareholder Anabel Rosa spoke at the Durham Chamber of Commerce "Her—Unleashed" luncheon, September 27th.

Rosa, a Puerto Rican native, has been practicing law in the United States for over 20 years and is active in the Latinx community.

When she came to the U.S. to attend college, she spoke only Spanish. She is now chair to the City of Durham Mayor's Hispanic/Latino Committee, and has helped organize pro bono citizenship clinics in North Carolina. Governor Roy Cooper selected Rosa to serve on the Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Latino Affairs, where she also serves on the Subcommittee for Economic Development.

For Rosa's work with the Latinx community, she received the 2018 "Triangle Business Journal" Women in Business award.

The Durham Chamber of Commerce invited Rosa to speak at the "Her – Unleashed" luncheon, where she recounted her journey from Puerto Rico to Durham.

Anabel said, "It was a privilege to be asked to share with others about my path from Puerto Rico to the United States. What I hope I got across was that, what is not on your resume may be the most important of all. Things like listening to and learning from mentors, mentoring and helping others, keeping a good attitude through the ups and downs.
