Attack on the Website of the American Pharmacists Association

WASHINGTON, May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --The American Pharmacists Association (APhA), a DC-based, non-profit professional association dedicated to advancing the profession of pharmacy, announced that on Monday evening, May 28, 2012, the APhA website, www.pharmacist.com, was attacked and defaced by an unknown individual or group.

APhA considers any attack on its website serious and is aggressively investigating. The incident has been reported to law enforcement and APhA is working with forensic experts and investigators to determine the full extent of the attack.

In order to protect the personal information of our members, donors and visitors, APhA temporarily took its website offline. The site is expected to be safely online again in the next couple of days.
