AT&T U-verse TV Wins IP&TV Industry Award for Best Multiscreen TV Service
DALLAS, March 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The IP&TV World Forum has again honored AT&T* with an IP&TV Industry Award for AT&T U-verse® TV. The IP&TV Industry Awards honor service providers for their innovation, excellence and achievement in the IPTV industry.
IP&TV Industry Award winners were announced Wednesday, March 23, at the 2011 IP&TV World Forum in London. AT&T U-verse TV won an IP&TV Industry Award for Best Multiscreen TV Service, and was also nominated as a finalist in the Best IPTV, Hybrid or Connected TV Service Growth Achievement category. In 2009, AT&T U-verse TV won two IP&TV Industry Awards for Best IPTV Service Growth Achievement for most Innovative New Service for Total Home DVR.
"Our top priority for AT&T U-verse is to deliver the best TV experience, period," said Brian Shay, senior vice president of U-verse, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. "We're proud to receive this award because it reflects our commitment to innovation and matches the positive feedback that we're getting from our U-verse TV customers."
In 2010, AT&T significantly expanded its multi-screen options for customers with hit TV shows on U-verse TV, U-verse Online, U-verse Mobile, and U-verse TV on Xbox 360. U-verse Mobile lets U-verse TV subscribers manage DVR recordings, and with a qualifying U-verse TV plan, download and watch hit TV shows on their smartphone.
AT&T U-verse customer success is driven by an all-Internet Protocol (IP) service that delivers a better TV experience. AT&T U-verse is the fastest growing TV provider in the country, with more TV subscribers added than any of the major TV providers reported in 2009 and 2010.
AT&T U-verse has received a positive response from customers since its introduction, and the IP&TV Industry Awards is the latest accolade for the service. In 2010, AT&T U-verse Mobile was honored with a TelcoTV Vision Award for Service Provider Innovation. Now AT&T U-verse TV ranks "Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the North Central, South and West Regions," according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study(SM).
