The Vision Award winners were announced Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the 2010 TelcoTV Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. U-verse Mobile won in the Service Provider Innovation category, and U-verse TV My Multiview was nominated as a finalist in the same category.
This is the third year in a row AT&T U-verse has received a TelcoTV Vision Award. AT&T U-verse won the Service Provider Innovation category in 2008 for AT&T U-verse Total Home DVR, and again in 2009 for AT&T U-verse TV Multiview.
U-verse Mobile lets U-verse TV subscribers browse their program guide, manage DVR recordings, and with a qualifying U-verse TV plan, download and watch hit TV shows on their smartphone. The app is available on more than 10 qualifying smartphone models and four major mobile operating systems. U-verse Mobile is one of the latest ways that AT&T is mobilizing everything that's important to customers — their favorite content, apps, entertainment and social networks.
"We're proud to be a three-time recipient of a TelcoTV Vision award that recognizes the innovation and integration we're bringing to U-verse customers," said Jeff Weber, vice president of video services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. "We continue to enhance the U-verse experience by adding new apps, DVR capabilities and more content across screens. We're improving how and where you watch television, and we're glad to see such a positive reception from the industry and our customers."
AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today. AT&T U-verse TV ranks "Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the North Central, South and West Regions," according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study(SM).
