AT&T to Demonstrate at Largest Capitol Hill Tech Policy Exhibition
Demo to Illustrate a Smart Mobile Phone Application that is a One-Stop Shop for all Government Related Questions
WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* is pleased to announce it will demonstrate smart mobile phone technology at the 11th Annual Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (ICAC) Kickoff Technology Policy Exhibition, on January 26, 2010. The Tech Policy Exhibition, now the largest and longest running event on Capitol Hill, will highlight some of the key pointed issues that will continue to impact policy-making in the 111th Congress. Various Presenters will offer hands-on demonstrations of the latest technologies in energy efficiency, authentication and verification, digital content, parental controls, disaster response, consumer electronics and more, to help illuminate these debates and possible solutions.
QMe!.gov is a smart mobile phone application that is a one-stop shop for all government related questions. Questions could range from healthcare to education to voting. Using either text or voice recognition technology consumers can search for precise answers to short questions and get responses instantly and automatically. The application uses a continuously evolving large warehouse of frequently-asked question/answer pairs, and applies AT&T's state-of-the-art large-vocabulary speaker-independent voice recognition and natural language technologies. AT&T will be demonstrating the healthcare feature of this application. QMe!.gov could drastically simplify the way people communicate with the government.
The goal of this annual tech exhibition is to bring cutting-edge technology demonstrations to Capitol Hill that illustrate the power and flexibility of the Internet as a medium for communications, commerce, and democracy. This event is expected to be widely attended by Internet industry and non-profit representatives, leading academics, and government policy staff.
The Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee is a diverse group of public interest, non-profit, and industry groups working to educate Congress and the public about important Internet-related policy issues.
