COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* will unveil its 2015 South Carolina African-American History Calendar in a celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 07, 2014, at the Koger Center for Arts in Columbia, South Carolina at 7:00 pm.
The 12-month calendar profiles individuals from across the state who have had a compelling impact on not only South Carolinians, but far beyond the borders of our nation. This calendar provides educators and others with a tool to teach students about the valuable contributions made by African-Americans.

This year, the calendar highlights thirteen extraordinary individuals who have made significant impact in a range of fields, including education, civil rights, science, business, politics, the arts, the military and sports. Each honoree has enriched South Carolina's history and been an ambassador for the state. The honorees featured in the 2015 calendar are:
- Mary M. Bethea – entrepreneur and author;
- Tyrone Corbin – NBA player and coach;
- Rev. Wiliam P. Diggs – civil rights activist, pastor and educator;
- Brig. Gen. Calvin H. Elam – Air National Guard and businessman;
- Terry Hunter – artist and educator;
- Brooklyn Mack – international ballet star;
- David Rivers – education and public administration;
- Bertha Maxwell-Roddey – educator;
- Willie R. Rogers – educator;
- Harvey and Evaretta Rutherford – husband-and-wife educators and community activists;
- Robert Satcher – surgeon, astronaut and engineer;
- David Holmes Swinton – college president;
