CINCINNATI, Jan. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* has activated an upgrade to bring faster speeds to more than 60 cell sites in the Cincinnati area. People using the network in these locations should see better service when they're watching videos, posting to social media or texting family and friends.
People using those towers will be using an expanded band of radio frequencies. That means greater speeds. It's like going faster in your car when a roadway has extra lanes.
"This investment by AT&T in the Cincinnati area – particularly an improvement like this, that impacts so many of their area cell sites all at once – supports residents and businesses who depend on quick and efficient mobile Internet access to thrive in our fast-paced and globalized world," said Bill Seitz, State Senator. "This is an important tool for our regional economic development and will continue to be a priority as businesses seek innovation and expansion."
"Our customers are living their lives on the go. We know they rely on mobile Internet every day. That's why we're upgrading our network for Cincinnati residents and businesses," said Adam Grzybicki, president of AT&T Ohio. "We want to help them get the most out of their mobile devices – whether they're watching videos, texting, or using social media."
AT&T invested more than $1.6 billion in its Ohio networks from 2012 through 2014. This drives a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.
We constantly invest in our network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. This helps Ohio residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
