AT&T And Amber Alert GPS Keep Parents, Children Connected With Child Safety Device
Portable Smart Locator With Two-Way Calling Ability Creates Peace of Mind for Parents
DALLAS, Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T today announced it will offer the Amber Alert GPS, a communication and location device that keeps parents in touch with their children. AT&T is the exclusive network provider for the Amber Alert GPS device and will also provide distribution and billing services.
The Amber Alert GPS device is a smart locator connected to AT&T's 3G network, allowing parents to communicate with their children. Weighing just 1.5 ounces, children can easily carry it in a pocket or backpack, in addition to a variety of other attachment options. The device has two-way voice calling and several features that give parents and caregivers peace of mind:
- Speed Alerts – Notify users when their child is in a vehicle exceeding a predetermined speed threshold.
- Breadcrumbing – Automatically send alerts of a child's location based on a preset schedule.
- Zone Alerts – Parents create "Zones" around their home, neighborhood, school, soccer field, etc., and receive an email alert whenever their child enters or exits a Zone.
- SOS Button – Children can alert their parents if they need help, and the parents can see where their child is.
Parents can control the device remotely through a mobile app or computer. It is easy to use, set alerts, and receive the information you need most.
"Amber Alert GPS lets parents stay in touch with their children, with a unique communication and tracking device," said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, Emerging Devices, AT&T Mobility. "For parents that think their child is too young for a cell phone, this is a great alternative."
"The Amber Alert GPS product enables families to stay connected with their loved ones, protect them from harm and live their lives fully," said Alan Baratz, Chief Executive Officer, Amber Alert GPS. "Kids can have the freedom to play outside, go to a friend's house or go to soccer practice while their parents have peace of mind that they can connect with them and locate them easily."
