DALLAS, March 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T's* 5G network is now live for consumers and businesses in 22 more markets across the U.S. With today's launch, AT&T now offers access to 5G on its best unlimited wireless plans for consumers and businesses in a total of 80 markets across the U.S.
The latest 5G markets available this week include Madera County, Mono County and Santa Rosa, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; Albany and Athens, Ga.; Worcester, Mass.; Beaverhead County and Lincoln County, Mont.; Sussex County, N.J.; Albany and Binghamton, N.Y.; Cincinnati, Columbus, Hamilton, Ross County and Springfield, Ohio; Lancaster and State College, Pa.; Provo, Utah; Madison County, Va. and Raleigh County, W. Va. Additionally, we offer access to our 5G+ network, enabling super-fast speeds and responsive connections in parts of 35 cities.1
This is great news for AT&T's customers who will have access to its 5G network just days before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20 line of devices. Those devices – available for preorder now and in stores and online beginning Friday, March 6 – will offer access to AT&T 5G, which we're building on the Nation's Best Wireless Network.2
Two flavors of next generation 5G technology
AT&T is building its more widely available 5G network using low-band spectrum. This service now covers more than 80 million people, offers impressive speeds over broader distances than 5G+ and is ideal for mobile customers who need performance while on the go.
AT&T also offers an enhanced wireless experience on 5G+ with its millimeter wave service, though with more limited coverage. Customers at select businesses, universities, hospitals and sports venues are beginning to see the early benefits.
1 Requires compatible plan for AT&T 5G connection. Limited AT&T 5G availability. May not be available in your area. For details on AT&T 5G coverage visit att.com/5Gforyou.
