ATSSA-Produced Video Receives International Communicator Award for Excellence
FREDERICKSBURG, Va., May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) has been awarded a prestigious 2015 Communicator Award, Award of Distinction – Programs/News: Information – for the video titled, High Friction Surface Treatments – A Road Surface Treatment, produced for the Federal Highway Administration late last year. The video was produced and submitted for the award by Video Solutions Design and Production (Alexandria, Va.), an award-winning video-production company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that is consistently recognized for professional excellence.
High Friction Surface Treatments are a relatively new low-cost roadway safety improvement method that adds friction to roadway pavements in locations where drivers may brake excessively, such as curves, down hills or steep grades, or when approaching an intersection. The video was created to explain and showcase the process to transportation officials nationwide, and to show the different types of high friction treatment options currently available.
The Communicator Award is an international awards program that recognizes innovative ideas in marketing and communications efforts. Founded 20 years ago, the program receives over 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
