ATSSA Congratulates U.S.-DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx
FREDERICKSBURG, Va., April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Members of the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), an international roadway safety association, offer their warmest congratulations to Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx upon his nomination by President Obama to serve as the United States Transportation Secretary.
In his announcement Monday, President Obama said, "When Anthony became mayor in 2009, Charlotte, like the rest of the country, was going through a bruising economic crisis. But the city managed to turn things around, and if you ask Anthony how that happened, he'll tell you one of the reasons is that Charlotte made one of the largest investments in transportation in the city's history."
"Improving our roadways and making them safer is what ATSSA members do," said ATSSA President and CEO Roger Wentz. "ATSSA looks forward to working with Foxx, after his Senate confirmation, to advance roadway safety and continue to drive down fatalities across the country and move the nation Toward Zero Deaths. This is truly a fantastic selection."
