FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Jan. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) honored Chuck Henson, real time traffic and transportation reporter for Bay News 9 in St. Petersburg, Fla., for the association's prestigious 2015 National Media Award during ATSSA's 46th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La., Jan. 31. Richard McGonegal, opinion page editor for the Jefferson City News Tribune in Jefferson City, Mo., and Alex Cameron, field reporter for News 9 in Oklahoma City, Okla., received first-and-second-runners-up respectively.
The award was presented for fair, balanced and informative reporting in transportation and roadway safety. Nominations were submitted by state departments of transportation.

The awards were announced during the Opening General Session of ATSSA's Convention & Traffic Expo. Following the session, attendees headed to the exhibit hall where 200,000-square-feet of products and services for the roadway safety industry were displayed in 500 booths. Traffic Expo is the largest trade show for the roadway safety products industry in North America.
