UTRECHT, Netherlands, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- With its launch of the Product Compliance Pack, Atos Origin is supporting companies to comply with the international obligations of the REACH regulation. REACH – a synonym of Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Materials – is aimed at protecting people and the environment from risks associated with hazardous materials produced or imported in the European Union. REACH sets out that companies must recognise the risks linked to all materials produced, processed or sold by them and must take appropriate steps with a view to the responsible management of these materials.

According to the system, all materials used or to be used in the EU are required to be registered by manufacturers and importers. This must be done by way of an evaluation of potential risks from chemical materials to people and the environment. This helps to establish whether authorisation can be granted for the use of these materials.

Responsible management of hazardous materials

PCP is made up of pre-defined, end-to-end process diagrams and descriptions with associated system configuration and comprehensive information about REACH legislation.
