CHANTILLY, Va., Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Atomicorp, a leader in automated protection for cloud, datacenter, and on-premise workloads, announced today that industry veterans Charles Gold and Lisa Brown will join its leadership team. These two leaders bring decades of experience building and scaling high growth SaaS, cybersecurity, and open-source companies.
By leveraging and extending OSSEC, the world's most widely used open source intrusion detection system, Atomicorp offers a comprehensive platform for detecting attacks and protecting workloads running in any environment. With more than a dozen global 2000 customers, the company is poised for rapid growth as cloud adoption sharply increases. As Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, Mr. Gold and Ms. Brown will drive growth strategy and execution as the company expands to capitalize on this growing opportunity.
Mr. Gold was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer at Virtru, an encryption and data protection leader, where he drove a marketing-first customer acquisition strategy enabling the company to grow from zero to eight figures of annual recurring revenue and 8,000 corporate customers in just three years. The Washington Business Journal named him its 2017 CMO of the year for his contributions to the company's growth. Prior to Virtru, Mr. Gold led marketing efforts at category leaders including Sonatype, Progress Software, and Red Hat.
Ms. Brown brings a wealth of experience as an operating executive, including roles as CFO, COO, and president of fast-growing technology leaders including Trusted Computer Solutions, Realeum, Vivid Cortex, Calico Commerce, and Value America. As a key growth strategist at Trusted Computer Solutions, she was an instrumental part of the leadership team, growing the company from $3 million to the high eight figures in revenue and spearheading the sale of the company at above market deal metrics. Ms. Brown led the company as subsidiary president after the sale, more than doubling revenue over a three-year period. Ms. Brown has been recognized as CFO of the year and an Outstanding Woman in Business by the Washington Business Journal.
"Our customers tell us that they need new ways to protect critical workloads as they move to the cloud and adopt agile DevSecOps processes," said Mike Shinn, co-founder, and CEO of Atomicorp. "We have the technology to meet this need, a massive open source community to engage, and with the addition of Lisa and Charles, we're ready to attack the market aggressively."
