Atlantic Trust expands its wealth strategies team in New York
NEW YORK, June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Atlantic Trust, the U.S. private wealth management division of CIBC (NYSE: CM) (TSX: CM), today announced that Halsey O. Schreier, with experience as a tax and estate attorney, has joined the team in New York as vice president and wealth strategist.

Since January 2016, the New York office has added two team members and now has a total of 38 wealth management professionals.
The growth of the New York office reflects a similar trend across the firm. Over the past year, Atlantic Trust has added nearly 40 professionals, including nine professionals in senior business development, relationship management, investment and wealth strategies roles.

Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Schreier was an associate at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, in Charleston, South Carolina, where he practiced in the areas of wealth management, taxation, trusts and estates, trusts and estate administration, trusts and estates litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law. He also served as a member of the South Carolina Bar Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section Council and has presented seminars on advanced estate planning techniques, trust and estate administration, S-corporations, limited liability companies and mergers and acquisitions. Schreier earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation at the New York University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina, North Carolina and New York bars.
