Atlanta Turns Blue
Vantage Oncology Launches Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign
ATLANTA, Sept. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today marks the first day of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and the official launch of Vantage Oncology's "blue" prostate cancer awareness campaign. Prostate Cancer, the second deadliest cancer for men, remains one of the most frequently diagnosed but detectable and curable diseases. Georgia ranks 11th in highest estimated deaths and had nearly 5,000 new cases diagnosed last year. It is time to turn Atlanta blue, increase awareness and ask our friends, families and community, "who do you wear blue for?"
One by one buildings across Atlanta will change their lights to blue in support of prostate cancer awareness. Keep an eye on Centennial Tower, Peachtree Pointe, the Concourse Corporate Center ("King" building), the DeKalb County courthouse, Fulton County Government complex, Eastside Medical Center and others as they light the city blue throughout September. This is a call to action for all the important men in our lives: fathers, husbands, sons, brothers and friends. Education and early detection are critical to winning the fight against prostate cancer.
