Atlanta-Based Online College Supports Atlanta Community Food Bank Holiday Food Drive
NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) will sponsor a Thanksgiving Food Drive, November 7 to 18, with all items collected being donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
In the days leading up to the fall holiday, administration and staff for the Norcross-based online college and high school will donate non-perishable food items which the Atlanta Community Food Bank will then distribute to its more than 800 non-profit partner agencies. These agencies offer support to low-income families across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.
"Our goal is to raise awareness for the issues of hunger in our community," said Cerise Lake, Ashworth's Human Resource Administrator. "Families deserve all the tools necessary to succeed and sometimes that includes food and grocery items."
Throughout the year, Ashworth makes a concentrated effort to support worthwhile causes to include the Habitat for Humanity, Children's Miracle Network, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the American Red Cross, and March of Dimes.
