ATFA's Nancy Soderberg to Unveil New Report Documenting the Declared Wealth Accruals of Argentine Public Officials
WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ATFA Co-Chair Ambassador Nancy Soderberg will unveil a new ATFA report titled, "Argentina Government Official Wealth Index Report." Co-Chairs Ambassador Nancy Soderberg and Robert J. Shapiro will host a media teleconference on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. EST / 1:30 p.m. ART to release and further discuss the report.
The new report details and graphically displays the increases in wealth of numerous government officials from both Kirchner administrations, including Guillermo Moreno and Sergio Berni, among others. The data contained in the Argentina Government Official Wealth Index report comes from declarations filed in the Anti-Corruption Office, an Argentine federal agency, by the individuals themselves.
The report is being released at a time where multiple corruption investigations are ongoing into Kirchner government officials, including President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her family, and Vice President Amado Boudou, who is under formal indictment and approaching trial. But the focus of the report is on a set of officials who have either avoided full investigations or have not yet been brought to public attention despite a number of serious questions raised by their own public disclosures.
