ATF Offers $5,000 Reward For Information On Retail Gun Theft
Investigators Seek Public's Help in Solving Crime, Recovering Stolen Guns
DONALSONVILLE, Ga., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Special Agent in Charge Scott Sweetow of the Atlanta Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) today announced that ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the theft of firearms occurring at federal firearms licensee City Motor and Marine located at 210 Second St., Donalsonville, Ga. on July 31.
"The burglary and theft of firearms from an FFL is a very serious crime and a top priority for ATF," said Sweetow. "We are asking for the public's help in our effort to apprehend and convict those responsible for this robbery."
During the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 31, City Motor and Marine FFL, was burglarized by unknown persons. Numerous handguns and rifles were stolen. The crime took place before day break, but no further information or description of the suspect(s) or crime are available.
