ATF Offers $5,000 Reward For Firearms Theft
25 Handguns Stolen from Freight Company
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced today a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and convictions of the person or persons responsible for the theft of 25 firearms from Con-way Freight Company in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
"Gun thieves and traffickers are the primary source of the firearms which are tools of the trade for those who engage in criminal activity," said Mark Potter, ATF Special Agent in Charge, Philadelphia Field Division. "We are asking the community to provide any information that would lead investigators to those responsible for stealing the firearms."
The theft occurred on or about August 11, 2010 from Con-way Freight Company located at 445 Mason Dixon Road, Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The firearms were being transported from the Greencastle, PA freight transportation facility to Bessemer, Alabama.
