ATC Organizes 'Build-A-Bike' Community Event At Global Leadership Conference
Team-Building Event Provides Donation of 28 Bicycles
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ATC hosted a "Build-A-Bike" team building event in support of HANDY, an award-winning non-profit organization who helps abused, neglected, and disadvantaged youth. The event took place during ATC's Global Leadership Conference at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Over 50 ATC executives participated in building and donating 28 bicycles.
ATC President and CEO Clyde Keaton said, "It has been our pleasure to support the mission of HANDY, as we develop the spirit of our global team. A true act of leadership is to give back to the community and with our presence in South Florida we felt it was important to choose a local organization. HANDY does an amazing job in meeting the needs of an at-risk population."
Upon completion of building the bicycles, each ATC team wrote and sang a team chant to the HANDY participants. In turn, HANDY made a presentation to the 50 executives in attendance. ATC's management team has over 20 years of experience on the cutting edge of supply chain management and engineering & technical services —but in this case, they took off on the learning curve for bicycle assembly, completing 28 bicycles for children in need.
Founded in 1985, Handy has met the needs of more than 45,000 children and serves more than 1,300 at-risk children annually in Broward County, Florida. Children participate in comprehensive programs that focus on education, youth development, and economic self-sufficiency. ATC's Aerospace division is located in Pompano Beach, FL, part of the area served by HANDY.
