ATC Global Webinars Address Key Industry Concerns
LONDON, September 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
ATC Global has announced that the next virtual event for the global air traffic community will be on Wednesday 17th October 2012. Five months before the industry's annual exhibition and conference in Amsterdam in March, ATC Global is hosting the free event to bring the air traffic management industry together online to address a range of important issues.
This is the second year ATC Global has run its webinar programme. In 2011, the three virtual events were attended by around 1,000 people from 89 countries, with presentations made by industry leaders from across the world.
Paula Milburn, Director of ATC Global, said, "Our key mission is to provide a neutral platform for the air traffic management community to talk about the issues that are of most importance. The virtual webinar series complements our flagship annual ATC Global Conference and Exhibition by providing an open, accessible and free platform for ATM industry stakeholders worldwide to come together, discuss the latest information and hear various viewpoints on the key issues of current concern."
The global ATM community will meet in the virtual conference auditorium for a series of webinar sessions throughout the day, in which industry leaders will discuss topics including runway safety examining recent work to improve this critical area; the UAV Operators' experiences of moving towards integrating civil-military UAS into the Single European Sky and globally. Another session will look at how the European ATM network can work together to cope with extreme weather conditions. It will examine if long term weather patterns are changing and what this will mean for the aviation community. Confirmed speakers include Nicky Cooper, Head of Network Operations Management at EUROCONTROL, Nic Nilsen, Managing Director of Oslo Airport, and Dr Herbert Puempel, Chief of the Aeronautical Meteorology Division of the World Meteorological Organization.
Participants at the free virtual event can see who is online, view personal profiles and engage in public and private chats with industry peers and stakeholders, as well as take part in live interactive debates and source industry information in the resource centre.
The event will run from 11.00 CET to 17.00 CET, with the first of three webinars starting at 11.30 CET. It is open to anyone with an interest in air traffic management and registration is now open at http://www.atcglobalhub.com/virtual. Participants simply need Internet access to take part.
