At The Breema Center, February Highlights the Second Principle of Harmony: 'No Extra'
Continuing its "2010: Year of Living the Nine Principles of Harmony" theme, The Breema Center offers February workshops on how to live the principle of 'No Extra'
OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing the "2010: Year of Living the Nine Principles of Harmony" theme, The Breema Center today announced that February will focus on the principle of "No Extra." The Breema Center will offer a workshop on "Letting Go of Fear by Letting Go of Extra" to explore that principle on February 14, 2010 at 9:00 am at The Breema Center in Oakland. The Winter Intensive precedes that from February 6-11 and provides more in-depth classes that support practicing all of the Nine Principles of Harmony.
"Each of the Nine Principles supports the next," said Jon Schreiber, director of the Breema Center. "Last month, we focused on the principle of Body Comfortable. But the body cannot be comfortable if there is extra. Extra is anything that we interpret through our experiences in the past or our expectations of the future. These extra thoughts, feelings, and sensations act as distractions that create unnecessary tension and fear that is not natural. The direction this month is about learning how to participate simply from knowing 'I am' and finding freedom in that, with no extra."
Life is a process and it is constantly manifesting, but we rarely just appreciate the flow of life as it is. We drink tea and want milk, or drink milk and want water. Extra ideas and desires create what we view as "problems" when what we really need to be is present - present to our life as it is unfolding right now.
For most people, the practice of just being with life as it manifests seems difficult to embrace. In The Breema Center's workshop, "Letting Go of Fear by Letting Go of Extra" on Sunday, February 14, 2010, Dr. Jon Schreiber will offer more insight into what it means to be present with no extra. The workshop will provide practical approaches to nurture one's transition from "extra" to "present" through Breema bodywork and Self-Breema exercises, as well as through the Nine Principles.
This workshop is for both beginners and experienced students.
