At-Risk High School Group to Demonstrate Converted Electric 1967 Karmann Ghia at Wardman Park Marriott

What: MINDDRIVE is a group of at-risk high school students and mentors from Kansas City's urban core that converted a 1967 Karmann Ghia into an electric car. The car also uses a device that switches on with social media engagement. They will demonstrate the vehicle at an industry gathering for the Electric Drive Transportation Association on Monday morning. The group will receive an award for innovation, photo opportunities and Q&A will follow.
When: Monday, June 10, 2013, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Who: All are welcome and this event is free to the public.
Details: MINDDRIVE is a nonprofit educational program geared toward teaching science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM) principles through hands-on learning. The group embarked on a "Social Fuel Tour" on May 31 and they've stopped at college campuses, environmental projects and Capitol Hill.
