At NAB Show 2013, Allegro DVT Demonstrates Genova HEVC/H.265 Software Encoder for VOD

Allegro DVT now applies its expertise on HEVC/H.265 encoding to the Genova Software Based Headend Suite, and performs on its booth at NAB 2013, demonstrations of Genova HEVC/H.265 Software Encoder for VOD. This new software based encoder permits HD 1080p60 encoding with 30% bitrate savings compared to best in class H.264 encoding.
Genova HEVC/H.265 Software Encoder, already shipping and available for production, is aligned with the final draft of the new compression standard HEVC/H.265, and is interoperable with a variety of software HEVC/H.265 decoders, which makes it the perfect framework for porting operator's VOD assets to HEVC/H.265 in 2013-2014.
Genova HEVC/H.265 Software Encoder for VOD and AL1200 Live HEVC/H.265 Encoder complete Allegro DVT's coherent product line for headends, addressing the various facets of video distribution with:
- ALMosaic, a classic for headend monitoring and set top box navigation applications.
- AL2400 high density multiscreen H.264 transcoder.
