At International Meeting, World Leaders and Development Experts Will Strengthen Commitments to Maternal and Child Nutrition

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, June 10, Bread for the World and Concern Worldwide will convene an international meeting of global development and nutrition experts, nongovernmental organization leaders, and policymakers to discuss improvements in maternal and child nutrition. Delegates will assess progress made since September 2010—nearly 1,000 days ago—when the United States and Irish governments launched the 1,000 Days Call to Action and the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, which focus on countries with the highest rates of malnutrition. New information and financial and political pledges will be presented as participants plan greater improvements over the next 1,000 days.
