CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA astronaut and Harvard graduate Stephanie Wilson will visit her alma mater to take part in discussions focused on inspiring girls to pursue technology careers. The event also will be streamed live over the web.
Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) in Cambridge, Mass., will host the Askwith Forum to explore the question of how to draw more young women into fields related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Wilson and other panelists will field questions starting at 5:30 p.m. EST Wednesday, Feb. 18. Anyone may participate via the web, or in person at Askwith Hall, Room 100, Longfellow Hall, 13 Appian Way, Cambridge. Web participants should go to the HGSE home page at the start of the forum to watch remotely.
NASA uses its unique resources – missions, facilities and people – to inspire and encourage students to study and pursue careers in STEM. The agency reaches out to groups whose participation in STEM disciplines is underrepresented, whether by race, gender or disability. NASA is committed to providing students the preparation they need to pursue STEM-related careers.
HGSE's Askwith Forums are public lectures that bring leaders together to share insights and generate spirited conversations about high priority education-related concerns. Harvard's series of Askwith Forums are targeted to reach graduate students, faculty and the general public.
