Astana EXPO-2017: Austria Officially Confirms its Participation in the Exhibition
ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Austria signed an Agreement on participation in the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO-2017.
The document was signed during an official visit of the Commissioner for EXPO-2017 in Astana, Rapil Zhoshybayev, to the country.
During the Commissioner's meetings with representatives of the IAEA, UNIDO, the Sustainable Energy for All initiative launched by the UN Secretary-General, OSCE, OPEC and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), issues regarding the participation of international organizations and holding industry conferences at EXPO-2017, as well as the contents of pavilions at the EXPO-2017 exhibition complex, were discussed.
Representatives of international organizations were highly impressed with the quality of preparation for EXPO-2017 and expressed confidence about the major exhibition which will encourage the global community to continue the dialogue on issues related to the environment, alternative energy, and energy efficiency.
The Austrian party reported that it plans to hold a number of events as part of EXPO-2017, including the Austrian National Day, the economic forum and an exhibition of Austria's best "green" energy technologies.
Bernadette Gierlinger, the Deputy Minister at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, pointed out that Austria places great importance on "green" technologies and plans a complete transition to renewable energy sources by 2030.
Astana will host the Astana EXPO-2017 International Specialized Exhibition from June 10 to September 10, 2017. The exhibition will last 93 days and will be one of the most spectacular cultural venues in 2017. To date, over 85 countries and over 15 international organizations have confirmed that they will participate in the Astana EXPO-2017 exhibition.
