Association Services of Florida Property Named WINNER in 2010 Florida Communities of Excellence Awards

MIRAMAR, Fla., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Association Services of Florida (ASF), an Associa company, applauds its community, Golden Horn South Condominium Association, named a winner in the 2010 Florida Communities of Excellence Awards for implementing a state-of-the-art disaster response plan.

Golden Horn South Condominium Association's disaster preparedness includes a Command Center fully equipped with impact-resistant glass, a natural gas generator for safe and secure operation during a disaster and the ability to perform building evacuations and file insurance claims expeditiously.  The Command Center can be cross-utilized to provide housing for some of the residents after a disaster as it includes a kitchen and restrooms.  Association Services of Florida provides assistance to community associations they manage in developing disaster plans to assist in preparation, response and recovery efforts.

The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards is the only statewide, independently judged program recognizing community associations for best practices and accomplishments that set the standard with programs such as disaster preparedness, environmental protection, water & energy conservation, community relations, financial innovation or safety & security.  The awards are sponsored by the Florida Community Association Journal and Becker & Poliakoff. The selection of the winners was made by independent experts from education, journalism, environmental advocacy, community association management and public safety.
