Assisted Living Concepts Changes Name to 'Enlivant'
New name reflects passion for quality care, captures renewed organizational vitality
CHICAGO, March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Assisted Living Concepts LLC unveiled its new name — Enlivant — to better reflect the organization's reinvigorated focus on providing high-quality senior resident care under its new ownership and leadership.
In doing so, the company, which enriches the health and well-being of senior residents with supportive, stimulating environments and compassionate care, refreshes its commitment to excellence with existing and prospective residents, their family members and employees.
"It's a new day at our company," said Enlivant Chief Executive Officer, Jack R. Callison, Jr. "The name 'Enlivant' captures the essence of this renewed sense of vitality and connectivity. While we are proud of our 30-year history as pioneers in the assisted living industry, today we celebrate the 'rebirth' of our organization and renew our commitment to become the nation's most trusted assisted living provider. Our ultimate goal is to enrich lives through meaningful relationships and vibrant communities."
Beyond its new name, several factors distinguish Enlivant from other assisted living providers.
"Because we have radically increased our commitment to provide the highest level of resident care possible, we are very proud of the fact that we employ full time, four-year college graduates and board-certified registered nurses (RNs) at each of our more than 200 assisted living communities across the United States," said Daniel M. Guill, Enlivant chief operating officer.
Guill also noted that Enlivant's communities, commonly 40 to 60 units each, are purposely built smaller than the industry average.
"Providing smaller communities ensures residents feel like they are part of an intimate family and allows our staff to form meaningful relationships with each of our residents," Guill said. "In an industry that serves almost 40 million Americans over the age of 65, this is a critical differentiator."
New Seasoned, Accomplished Executives
There are many other exciting changes that have taken place at Enlivant, including the recent relocation of company headquarters from Menomonee Falls, Wis. to Chicago. The company also unveiled a new, redesigned website, www.Enlivant.com, to serve as an educational resource for prospective residents and their families.
Enlivant recently infused its senior executive and divisional leadership teams across the country with a blend of seasoned and accomplished executives from both within and outside of the assisted living industry. This new team of dedicated professionals is committed to moving Enlivant in an innovative direction.
"We are excited that our name now aligns with our new passion," said Enlivant Chief Financial Officer Akhil Sharma. "Our strategy continues to focus on making significant upfront investments in people, training and technology to ensure that we are doing everything possible to support our almost 5,000 staff members who provide exceptional care for our extended family – our residents."
Different, Clearly
Each Enlivant assisted living community across the country employs a team of compassionate healthcare professionals dedicated to providing quality care and services. RNs partner with each resident to build a highly customized, individual plan of care to maintain their health, well-being and happiness and provide around-the-clock assistance with medication administration – one of Enlivant's most used and highly regarded care services. Registered dietitians create well-balanced dining menu choices. Many communities also have strong partnerships with onsite physicians and other medical professionals to provide specialized care, as needed.
Enlivant also offers diverse programming that celebrates each resident's unique needs and abilities in a supportive and lively community. These dynamic options include activities ranging from social and creative (e.g., vintage car shows, live acoustical music performances or artistic painting) to cognitive (e.g., computer skills classes or foreign language lessons) to wellness programs (e.g., Tai Chi or Qi Gong or yoga practice).
"At Enlivant, we know that our actions significantly affect the lives of our residents every day," said Callison. "Our actions are guided by Enlivant's new core values: compassion, humility, excellence, fun and, most importantly, integrity. We strive to create a stimulating and vibrant, relationship-based atmosphere, which enables our residents' minds, bodies and spirits to flourish."
