CONCORD, Calif., Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AssetMark, Inc., a leading provider of innovative investment and consulting solutions serving independent financial advisors, announced today that it will donate a total of $100,000 over five years to the Foundation for Financial Planning. AssetMark selected the Foundation for this donation because it believes in the power of the foundation's mission of connecting people in need with members of the financial planning community for pro bono assistance in gaining control of their financial lives.
"All of us at AssetMark have witnessed the exceptional impact an advisor can have in improving a family's outcomes. This is especially true for families experiencing financial difficulties, such as those served by the Foundation for Financial Planning," said Charles G. Goldman, President and CEO. "As a purpose-driven company, we are committed to giving back to our communities and to individuals who our industry can serve."
AssetMark's donation to the Foundation for Financial Planning is part of its Charity and Giving Program, a long-running company commitment to supporting philanthropic activities through corporate strategic initiatives, employee-led partnerships and volunteerism. These include furnishing support to the Concord-based Monument Crisis Center, which helps low-income families receive nutritious food, educational support and general assistance. The company's philanthropic outreach has also provided financial grants and volunteer services to Neurologic Music Therapy Services of Arizona and to New Pathways for Youth.
The Foundation for Financial Planning provides financial planners with the training and assistance to offer pro bono financial advice to underserved members of the community in need of financial guidance or in financial crisis. The organization also awards grants to local, regional and national non-profit organizations for pro bono financial advice and community outreach activities. The foundation has assisted tens of thousands of individuals and families via a nationwide network of financial planners.
"Pro bono financial planning enriches the lives of everyone who participates," said James A. Peniston, executive director of the Foundation for Financial Planning. "AssetMark's generous support will contribute to the tremendous positive results we see in the lives of the underserved, as they begin to apply the guidance and support they receive from volunteer members of the financial planning community."
