Asset International to Launch Philanthropy Management in March 2012
Focused on the financial, operational and strategic services that support sustainable giving - the 'how' of modern philanthropy
NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Asset International has launched a new quarterly publication, Philanthropy Management, focused on the financial, operational and strategic services provided to foundations, endowments, family offices and other grant makers by wealth managers, asset managers and other professional advisors.
Philanthropy Management will be distributed globally to more than 11,000 senior executives within foundations, endowments and family offices. Its readership includes the largest grant making entities in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Middle East, representing organizations that account for billions of dollars in grant making.
"Philanthropy is a growing, global enterprise that has increasingly important implications in light of the reduced ability of many fiscally-strapped governments to support altruistic programs," said John Lee, managing director of Philanthropy Management. He noted that Philanthropy Management will address asset management, strategic planning, custody, regulatory compliance, impact assessment and other critical areas that promote sustainable and effective giving.
The launch issue will feature interviews with leading philanthropic organizations and individuals, including The Clinton Foundation in the US and Sir Stelios Hadji-Ioannou, founder of European airline Easyjet. Lead articles will explore the role of private banks and asset managers in supporting the work of major foundations and the ambitions of living donors. The part played by multi-family offices as a conduit for philanthropy will also be assessed.
According to editor Dr. Richard Schwartz, "Foundations and endowments are increasingly turning to professional advisors such as asset managers and custodian banks to help them manage and administer their assets, while wealth managers play a pivotal role in helping to structure effective giving programs for their high-net-worth clients."
Philanthropy Management seeks to act as a bridge between the philanthropic community and its providers and advisors. The publication will interview the leading figures in the world of philanthropy on the many practical challenges they face and examine the structure of the service industries that have grown up around institutional philanthropy.
"Philanthropy Management aims to provide philanthropic institutions with a broader and more refined range of tools, resources and research to measure their own success and the impact of the advisors and services they use," commented Dr. Schwartz.
"Philanthropy Management is the only publication to focus specifically on the business of philanthropy," adds Mr. Lee. "Philanthropy Management will address what might be seen as the plumbing of the industry, but without which the taps don't open and the water doesn't flow."
