Assess Seven Areas of Achievement with the Academic Achievement Battery™ Comprehensive Form from PAR
LUTZ, Fla., Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PAR is proud to announce the release of the Academic Achievement Battery™ (AAB™) Comprehensive Form by Melissa A. Messer, MHS. A complete yet affordable solution, the AAB can be administered to individuals ages 4-85 years in educational, clinical, or research settings.
The AAB Comprehensive Form is a broad battery that covers a wide range of achievement domains. Specifically, the AAB Comprehensive Form assesses an individual's performance in the main areas of achievement defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA): oral expression, listening comprehension, written expression, basic reading skill, reading fluency skills, reading comprehension, mathematics calculation, and mathematics problem solving.
Results obtained from the AAB may aid in decision making about inclusion in special education services or other targeted interventions; can be used in placement and/or accommodation decisions; and can help identify individuals with special needs who may qualify for disability or vocational services.
The AAB Comprehensive Form is made up of 15 subtests that compose eight composite scores. Item content was developed using academic standards set by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of English, Common Core, and Reading First.
The AAB requires only minimal training and detailed or subjective scoring has been kept to a minimum. Normative data are provided for 32 different age groups and norms for children and adolescents by grade from PreK through Grade 12 are provided.
Data collection for the AAB included more than 200 clinical cases from several groups including learning disability, intellectual developmental disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and speech/language impairment. The AAB has strong positive correlations with other measures of comprehensive achievement including the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, Third Edition, the Woodcock-Johnson III, and the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, Second Edition. In addition, strong correlations were found between the AAB Comprehensive score and measures of intelligence including the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fourth Edition.
