Assemblyman Travis Allen Honors Marcia Manker as Woman of the Year for 72nd Assembly District
CEO of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center Honored During Special Assembly Ceremony at State Capitol
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. and SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Marcia Manker, CEO of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, was honored as 2014 Woman of the Year by Assemblyman Travis Allen (R-Huntington Beach) for the 72nd Assembly District during a special Assembly ceremony at the State Capitol. A leading health care executive in Southern California, Manker has more than two decades of leadership in health care in Orange County.

As CEO of Orange Coast Memorial, Manker oversees all hospital operations, strategy development and business initiatives. She guided the expansion of the Orange Coast Memorial Patient Care Pavilion, a state-of-the-art outpatient structure which opened in 2009. She has been instrumental in implementing the Orange Coast Memorial Foundation, which provides essential support for the hospital's not-for-profit mission. As a result of her dedication, Orange Coast Memorial has developed several centers of excellence including the MemorialCare Cancer Institute, an accredited, comprehensive cancer program; MemorialCare Heart and Vascular Institute and the renowned MemorialCare Breast Center.

The annual Woman of the Year ceremony celebrates California's remarkable women as an annual Capitol event to salute community service. During a special ceremony in Assembly chambers honorees are presented with a resolution from the State Assembly recognizing their contributions.
