Aspen University Announces Partnership with National Restaurant Association to Promote Online Restaurant Management Degree
DENVER, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Aspen University, a leading provider of affordable online education, announced today that it is collaborating with the U.S.-based National Restaurant Association to offer affordable education opportunities to the nearly 13 million workers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. Aspen is a 100% online, accredited university with a rich history dating back almost 40 years. The National Restaurant Association is the largest business association representing the restaurant and foodservice industry in the areas of advocacy and representation, tools and solutions, education and networking, research and insights, and responsible stewardship.
This collaboration provides undergraduate degree-seeking students an affordable education focusing on business administration and front-of-house restaurant operations.
"The comprehensive restaurant operations and management degree at Aspen University was developed specifically to fit the workforce characteristics of our industry," said Mike McCallum, Chief Strategy Officer for the National Restaurant Association. "The degree is flexible, entirely online, very affordable, and incorporates the Association's existing educational programs, including ServSafe and ManageFirst. By obtaining this degree, students and restaurant workers can build strong foundations for their foodservice careers in our industry of opportunity."
Part-time, full-time, or contract employees of Association member restaurants, along with their immediate family members, are eligible to receive a 50 percent tuition discount to pay a $90 per credit hour tuition rate, making the degree very affordable. Additionally, federal financial aid is available for students who qualify.
"There are two things I love about our partnership with the National Restaurant Association," said Dr. D. E. Lady, President and CEO of Aspen University. "The first is that together we are providing so many people with access to finishing their college education on a flexible schedule at a reasonable cost. The second is that we are able to donate 15% of all collected tuition back to the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), creating real value to the industry as well as to the individual."
The degree program is designed to allow maximum advantage of past college credits, restaurant industry experience, and relevant past industry training, making it possible to finish the program, in many circumstances, in under a year. Aspen University is proud to support the mission of educating and training the restaurant industry, and wholeheartedly supports the NRAEF's goals of providing real scholarships and creating foodservice career opportunities through education." Dr. Lady further stated.
Aspen University, the first accredited university to offer a 100% online MBA, is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The Accrediting Commission of the DETC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
