CHICAGO, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspen Dental Management, Inc., (ADMI) the largest branded dental support organization (DSO) in the U.S., today announced the addition of Dr. David Galler, DMD to its clinical support team. Dr. Galler will serve as Senior Vice President, Orthodontic Services rolling out Invisalign®, the world's leading invisible orthodontic product, to the 700 Aspen Dental offices across the country.
Dr. Galler is an Invisalign faculty member and in the top one percent of Invisalign providers in North America, having personally treated more than 2,000 cases in the last 10 years. He has trained more than 3,000 doctors — affectionately known as "Gallerites" — on the unique technique he invented called "GST" (Galler Spacing Technique). It is used by dentists worldwide for Invisalign.
"This is a great opportunity to bring together the largest branded network of dental providers in the country with the number one dental product globally," said Galler. "These two powerhouses together will increase the level of care that Aspen Dental practices can offer their patients."
ADMI announced last month an agreement with Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), makers of the Invisalign clear aligner system, to equip all Aspen Dental locations with an iTero Element® intraoral scanner. It was officially launched at Aspen Dental's Annual Leadership Retreat in Chicago at the end of August. Dr. Galler will lead trainings for Aspen Dental doctors across the country with the goal of enabling an end-to-end digital workflow in all Aspen Dental locations by August 2019.
After a quick digital scan with the iTero Element scanner, patients can see a simulation of how their new smile may look even before they commit to Invisalign treatment. Unlike traditional dental impressions, which can take weeks to process, Align's end-to-end digital workflow leveraging the iTero scanner develops the patient's 3D dental model immediately, making it possible for patients to begin their treatment sooner. The iTero scanner is also integral to tooth restorative procedures such as crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays and onlays.
Prior to joining Aspen Dental Management, Inc., Dr. Galler practiced dentistry and administered Clear Aligner Therapy at Premier Dental Associates of Lower Manhattan. He graduated with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania College of Dentistry, and completed his general practice residency and cosmetic practice residency at the Brooklyn Veteran's Administration Hospital. He currently serves as President of the American Academy of Clear Aligners.
